Car air conditioning is a feature in the vast majority of cars on the market. Although it is not required to perform regular maintenance checks, it is recommended by most car manufacturers to service the AC every 2-3 years and recharge with gas and lubricant. AC service helps to keep the system working efficiently. If the AC is not serviced regularly, faults can develop leading to higher repair cost.
